Play games, listen to music, watch movies and sail through the Internet. These are just some of the features a PlayStation Portable an iPod and many other devices offer you. But what about that day when you desperately want to view that PDF on your device and all it can do is the things mentioned above?

Though PDF viewing is not that difficult on an iPod touch (you can get legit apps from the App store) but it surely is when it comes to other iPod’s and PSP. With such vibrant and near perfect screens of the iPod’s and PSP’s reading books on the go is a pleasure which you just can’t miss. But you *are* missing it. That is the reason you are reading this post, isn’t it?

What I will tell in this post is How to view a PDF on an iPod or a PSP without Jailbreaking /Hacking/ Modding the device. The only thing that your device requires is that it should be able to view images, no matter what format. But if you already have a PSP or an iPod that is Jailbroke/Hacked/Modded then it’s no use reading this post. Viewing PDF’s on that kind of device is a piece of cake.

The basic idea: What we will do is pretty simple yet ingenious. We will use an application eBook to Images. See? The idea is pretty fantastic!

How to: It’s pretty simple, just download the software to your PC. Open it. It currently supports the following devices.

Besides these devices the images can of course be used anywhere on any other device too because of course at the end of the day these are images (you do need to mind the resolution).  You get the option of the output images being in JPEG, PNG and BMP. It also has a custom mode in which you can manually specify the resolution, quality of images (quality of images are directly proportional to the size of the images) ,font size, background colour, font colour and you can even opt for a custom background image though that will surely up the size of each image.

Conversion is usually very fast. I converted The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, output was around 1700 pages. Quite a large number but still feasible.

After converting, all you have to do is copy these images to the device and view them!

PS: Wondering from where exactly are you supposed to download the software? Just wait for a few days, I’ll upload the software or just Google the name and you’ll find it. The reason I’m not uploading it now is because I currently have a 200MB limited connection out of which I’ve already used 1GB

It all started on Friday,the 5th. The day I was fearing the most. In the beginning it looked far, very far. But then, coming quickly has  been a habit of time. And this day was no exception. For 2 weeks I sat on my bed day and night (*did* lie down for sleeping). Studying continuously. Though thinking about Code Wars, TCS IT Wiz and blogging more than ever. Somehow I finished the syllabus in time, though leaving a bit here and there and just went through some of the topics. Finally the day came.And I went to meet the Dragon itself (No,he is not the Dragon). The Dragon on that day was not in his full glory,so I pwned it. Came out feeling wonderful and totally stress free. In the morning I was just hoping to pass and in the afternoon I was getting 80+. It was the last time I had to face the Dragon and I did it.

All this while, I was talking about SST. It’s not that 10th standard’s SST is difficult but when you flunked all through the year, never touched a book it does tend to become a *little* difficult. But thankfully, I did well according to my standards in the paper.

I gave my Science exam yesterday. One of the most twisty paper I’ve seen till date. It forced your mind to think. Pretty challenging paper. But that’s not what students expected. Why should we expect the unexpected? We went there to give an exam not watch an Episode of Roadies with lots twists and turns!! Allegedly some teachers are saying that the Science paper of 2010 was a total rip-off from the 2006′s paper. But I can’t really complain because the questions were from the topics in the NCERT book only. But still, a totally unexpected kind of paper.

My next exam is on 31st,Science MCQ. So I have about 3 days to enjoy (I’ve already wasted spent the 1st day doing almost nothing). But alas, the 2 days left are not exactly for what I call enjoyment. I’ve enrolled myself for admission tests for FIITJEE, Vidya Mandir Classes, Brilliant tutorials and Narayana. So,I will have to prepare for them as I desperately want a discount. Not that my parents can’t afford their fees but because they (coaching) as I say are a bunch of goons who just ask for money.

School will re-open on 21st April for us . That’s not what me and my friends expected. Expected to get some more time to enjoy.

You know why I’ve written these down? So that I don’t waste my time doing absolutely nothing and put that time into doing something productive. I’ll keep updating this list if something else come to my mind. The reason I’m going to write the PC speed posts is because I want to give my blog a nice strong foundation. That post will not be ingenious nor will it get me much traffic but it will act as a strong foundation for my blog.

I am totally against reviewing a gadget unless you’ve used it for some considerable time. That is exactly where my reviews will be a little different from that of others. I will tell you about things that you observe only after some rigorous and continuous use. I hope that you will like those reviews.

Reviewing movies is something I doubt I will ever do. It’s simply because I can’t. The same is with books. I like to read a lot but reviewing one is not my piece of cake.

Fine, I confess. Though I’ve stopped playing Mafia  Whores Wars. I still like it a lot. I used to play it all day, sacrificing on my gym, studies, friends and lots more. I wanted to stop but just simply couldn’t! So one fine day, I thought OK done finish, today I won’t play that game. It might lead to me not leveling up a few times, my properties being robbed, my money being taken away and my energy pack(you get 1 in 23 hours) wasted. So what?! Nobody cares. But that fine day, I played it. Leveled up a few times used my energy packs and did exactly what I was thinking of not doing Playing. I even dragged some of my friends like Aditya, Tejasvi,  Sahil , Vishrut and Avi. But they had the minds not to play it and stopped before they got addicted. I read this joke some time back and it depicts clearly how popular the game is.

Yesterday I went to meet my eye doctor. When I sit down in his big scary eye checking room.
He said” Okay, whats wrong?”. “My eyes hurt Doc, I think it because I’m watching my computer monitor too long. Playing Mafia Wars.”

Many a fine days like that passed away and I kept on playing until that day when I realized that  my gym routine had messed up and I’ve not touched that SST book for weeks now. I have loads of pending work and boards are just round the corner. Finally on a very fine day I did not play it. After that, I got over my addiction. I don’t remember the date but time. Ok, now I’ll stop bragging and come to the point. I’ve seen people playing the game and wasting resources. This guy X got 5000 Reward Points in lottery. And you know what? He’s wasting them away!!

Now this post is for the newbies, who do play the game but don’t what’s happening inside the game. I’ll write about the bugs/glitches that I used to climb to the top. The tricks and simple application that I used. I’ll also be mention some of the Complex applications that I used while playing

Tips and tricks……

# Bookmarklets

As defined by Wikipedia” bookmarklet is an applet, a small computer application, stored as the URL of a bookmark in a web browser or as a hyperlink on a web page. The term is a portmanteau of the terms bookmark and applet. Whether bookmarklet utilities are stored as bookmarks or hyperlinks, they are designed to add one-click functionality to a browser or web page. When clicked, a bookmarklet performs some function, one of a wide variety such as a search query or data extraction. Usually the applet is a JavaScript program.”

So, how do you use them? It’s pretty simple. The first thing you need to do is close that Internet Explorer and get Firefox or Chrome. When you see a bookmarklet, just drag it to your “Bookmarks” bar. DO NOT click it. Once it is on the bookmarks bar, go to the desired page and click it. Something or the other depending on the bookmarklet will happen.

So where doe it come in use for Mafia Wars? If you are a good player you should know about them. You and some more here on Yevgen’s site.

If you did the site’s mentioned above, you will of course get confused, because there are so many bookmarklet’s there. I’ll tell you which one’s are important and which are not.

AttackX: For new guys, I would recommend only “AttackX”. Go to the profile of a player whom you can easily beat. Attack them once. Now, press the AttackX bookmarklet once. Wait for a few second. Now this bookmarklet will use all your stamina on that player!! You don’t need to do anything, besides waiting. The script (bookmarklet) will heal you automatically once your health goes below 30 and start attacking again. It also shows you the average experience stamina ratio you got. Loots you found while fighting and money you gained while attacking and lost while healing yourself.

Switch: It switches between a user’s Facebook profile and Mafia Wars profile with just one click. One of the best bookmarklet’s out there. It is currently in beta, you.

ExpEnergy: It shows the ratio of the energy you have at that time and the amount of experience you need to level up. If the ratio is somewhere around 2.00 you can easily level up. If it above that, you might have some problems leveling up, as in you might fall short of a little experience. The bookmarklet also shows the ratio of energy and experience of each and every job. This is the best and most useful bookmarklet I’ve ever used.

Mafia Wars autoplayer (rebirth): This is a bot. Pure bot. It will play for you while you are sleeping, bathing, watching TV and literally doing anything. It will manage everything. You don’t have to do anything. I personally didn’t use this. Why use this if you don’t want to play? Play yourself, don’t use bots. But of course, it’s entirely your choice. If you want to show off to your friend who brags that he is at level 100.

Bug Remastering Job: You know that we will get 1 skill point every mastering a job. So remastering street thug job will make you have many skill point. See the tab of TOP MAFIA FAMILY, watch by Most Job, look at them, low-level with Most Job? .I personally couldn’t use it because it came out before I started playing.

Bug Godfather Point Link: You know that sometimes Zynga Officially share a link that when you click it, you will get 1-5 GF Point, the bug is you can generate as much as you want. I personally couldn’t use it because Zynga fixed it pretty quickly.

Bug Money Loundry: You can buy Cuba Item with US$ and sell it with CS$, it solve for money in Cuba. Status: HAS BEEN FIXED.

Stamina Attack: You can attack other mafia with zero stamina. I leveled up 40 times using this bug!

Declare Wars Bug, You can eliminate all your enemy Top Mafia… It’s simple, Right Click at the attack link, and open it in new tab. I

Declare Wars Bug 2: I had to work hard for it to work. A lot of fiddling with the links finally resulted in the exposure of this bug, which I didn’t tell anyone until they gave me something in return .What happens is that you don’t participate in your own war. Wait it gets finished, use the link I made and you get 3 experience every second without doing anything. You just need to reload the page. For reloading I used a simple script. And used it in 10 different tabs. Getting 30 experience every 3 seconds!.

Add Family Bug… This bug mafia use for adding family without having to be a friend first, so the family can add very quickly…  This bug can also be used for avoiding bullies, avoiding robber that always rob you, for example, there are enemies who’ve always bully you, use the Magic Link, and when he/she attack you, “”You can not fight a member of your own family.”I added 12K mafia members through this.

Lottery Stamina Bug: Go to the lottery menu, cash in your lottery for 5 stamina points and in place of 5 stamina points you GET A full REFILL! I used it only 3 or 4 times.

Each of the above bugs has been fixed. There were some more bugs which I used but they are not important enough to write about so I’m skipping them.

Ok, so you just bought an iPod or an iPhone. The first thing you would want to do is install games and applications. For that you need an iTunes account. To make an account on iTunes you require a Credit Card. I personally don’t have one, and I wouldn’t want to borrow one (who would give one, anyway?).So how do you bypass this? In simple language, How can one make an iTunes/App store account without a credit card? This post will tell you exactly that. Even if you have limited knowledge of computer, you won’t have a problem in understanding this guide.

What you require: A computer with an internet connection and iTunes 9.In case you don’t have the latter you can download it from here. I cannot help if you don’t have the former….

A note before I start this guide: Do exactly as told, I know you have immense knowledge of computers, but please taking one step wrong or skipping a step will result in iTunes asking you for a credit card, which surely you don’t want to see happening.

Step #1 Open iTunes. Head over to the iTunes store. On top, just below the Apple logo, ”App Store” is written. Click and open it. (Refer to photos, if in doubt)

Step #2 Now you should be in the App Store. If you are not sure or just want to confirm, this is what it looks like. (Refer to image with name Step #2).Now look for free apps, in the right hand down corner. Open the first free app. (Refer to photos, if in doubt)

Step #3 You should have been taken to the app. There must be “Get App” or “Free App” button. Click it. (Refer to photos, if in doubt)

Step #4 A dialog box will open up.”Create new account” should be written on its top. Click it. (Refer to photos, if in doubt)

Step #5 A new screen will open up. Click “Continue” on it. (Refer to photos, if in doubt)

Step #6 You will be redirected to TOS (Terms Of Service) page. At this page you will get the option to choose your country. I recommend you to choose US. The reason why I asked you to choose US? You’ll get to know in a minute. To change, country, there is an option on top. Go there, choose US and come back. Now tick the “I have read………..condition” and click “Continue”

I wrote my last post first post last year. Don’t be surprised, it was on November 27 2009. Today is 15 January 2009 2010, sorry, I do that mistake every year, the only difference is (from now on, is will change for forever to are because now we have 2 numbers to be careful of) that I did this mistake on purpose…

The reason I was not able to blog for nearly Two and a half months were namely by Pre-Boards Boreds and the reason due to which I won’t be able to blog for another Two and a half months will be my boards. I’ll of course try and squeeze out some time from my studies and write posts.

You might be wondering, why am I blogging today (If not, then please wonder that and read the last line again), don’t I have to study?.Ahhh..No, today I do not have to study. Today I gave my last Pre- (No, I’ll not repeat that joke again) Board. I still have to give my Practicals though.

Now, I’ll not dwell into my life at this point in time. I’d like to tell something about myself to you.

I am Pulkit Kaushik. As of 15 January 2010(didn’t do it this time) I am 16 years old.

My interests are Reading books, fiddling with my PC (I’ve done stuff with my PC you can’t even imagine, not because it’s ingenious but because it is plain weird. Happy Vivek? ) , keeping it clutter free, working out and loads more which I will write about in due time.

From the beginning, I’ve been attracted towards computers. I got my first computer when I was in 7th standard that is 3 years back. But my fetish and passion for computers had been residing in me since childhood. I used to got to my Mummy’s Office, Dad’s office, Bhua’s Office,<insert relative of choice>’s Office and sit their on a computer all day, just fiddling  with it, and cry when it would be lunch time(had to leave computer at lunch time) or when it would be time to go home..If I somehow got to know of a place where I could sit all day on a computer without any charges (I’ve never been to a cybercafé) and disturbance would do anything to go their..An internet connection was not a necessity for me. What I wanted was a computer, always. It’s been 3 years I’ve had this computer and only in June last year did I get an Internet connection.

Let’s have a look at my computer. I bought it on _____ (ahh.. I don’t remember the date, sad ain’t it? It is an assembled PC, assembled, configured and bought entirely by me (Dad paid for it of course, Duh!).

Done with my PC.  I’d like to tell that I’m a gadget freak. I currently own a Sony PSP, Nokia N70, an iPod Touch 8GB 3G, a Kodak Easy Share Z812IS (8.1 MP, gives one the best image results, in it’s price range). I buy gadgets only after proper researching and checking out various products available and comparing prices. I’ll post detailed review about each of my gadgets, in detail when I get some more time. Till then, bye guys! This post has been shorter than I had anticipated it to be before writing. I’ll try to write longer posts from now on.

This is apparently my first EVER blog post.

I’ll write my first post about the thing which I like most, quizzing and going to quizzes. This is about CODE.

CODE 2009 was held at APEEJAY PUBLIC SCHOOL, Noidea on 26/11 (the same day the Mumbai attack happened and the same day our principal sir expired) anyway I must not get carried away.

I was not sure if I would be able to go to this particular event because according to my parents (particularly my mom) my Pre-Boards are approaching and I have to study. When there’s a will, there’s a way, so I somehow convinced that this will not affect my studies. And I don’t know how, but she said yes. ! But I had promised her that I will study, so I had to study, so I did not prepare for the quiz ,so I was not really confident, so I was nervous. There were so many so’s, that I feel like writing so again, so.

Anyway, the day before the quiz, I somehow accomplished the feat of finishing the 3 chapters of mathematics that I had to do. So (again!) I got time to prepare! That relieved some of my nervousness.

Studied a bit and then slept. Woke up in the morning, unplugged my PSP and MOBILE as they were on charging all night long. (I have batteryphobia)

I’ll fast forward a bit. Got ready, miraculously didn’t miss my bus this time. Chatted with Kanika till I reached school. Went to my class. Collected some Best of luck, and went to the I-Lab.

Now back to normal pace, (remember I was fast forwarding?).Aditya was with me. The I-Lab was closed so rather than waiting I went to 12-I to meet Karun. Didn’t find him but found Siddharth and Anirudh   there. Had a quick conversation and asked them to come downstairs to the I-Lab. Jitendra sir had not yet arrived, but someone had opened the I-Lab anyway. Vishal and Shashank came in and told me that we had not yet gotten the CODE participants list autographed from the Vice-Principal as everybody was absent the day before. Till then Sid and Anirudh hadn’t bothered to come down, so I went to call them. Saw Sid coming down. He didn’t have any idea about the list. Anyway, we got the list autographed somehow.

We were almost ready to leave when we remembered that juniors who were going for PPT were yet to arrive. I went to call them. And learnt a lesson there:

Never ever enter a class full of small children, when there is no teacher inside.

• Had to shout scream out the names of the juniors while trying to shoo away 3 kids trying to push me out of their class.
• Did a mistake by going to the last bench of the class to talk to the 2 juniors as I had no idea how difficult it would be walk that 4 meters back to the door.
• The 2 refused to move and told me that they are not going for any event anywhere. Told me that some other children are going whom they refused to name.

After minutes feeling like hours of trying to convince them to tell me the names I had to drag them out of the class. And miraculously after coming out of the bounds of the class they told me everything like a parrot and even took me to the particular classes of the other 2 juniors. I thanked them and got hold of the Juniors and went back to the I-Lab with them.

Bani ma’am wished best of luck in her tone and asked us to GET OUT politely. Went to the bus, the back seat was awesome (the driver had done some modifications) and sat down. Took out some notes and started going through them. The WEB-D guys (Sid and Vaibhav) had thought that they would have to work on CSS while the truth was that they had to CODE at CODE.THEY HAD TO USE HTML. Apparently they just knew the basics and some advanced stuff. But they are awesome anyway. Sid and Romil went to the library and got a huge book of HTML. They were taking a lot of time therefore I had to run to the LIB to call them. And run back to the bus as we were a bit late.

It took I don’t how much time to reach Noidea. Got down the bus and headed for the reception. We were escorted to the registration desk by about 8 girls!:D I don’t know of any emoticons except : P and : D

Sat down in the Audi and listened to the speech by the Principal. Then saw a play based on the script of a group discussion. It spoiled the entire mood. According to Vishal

Saw the paper and smiled laughed. from the first look at the paper I knew that I was sure about 11 and Anirudh might know some which I didn’t knew. But, no I’ll tell the reactions after reading the questions.

One look and I knew the answer was Eka. Anirudh didn’t know.

It was like this till the end. We missed 9 questions, 6 of them acronyms like POSIX (Portable Operating System Interface [for Unix]) and EIDE (Enhanced Integrated Development Program.

Anirudh was getting bored sitting there and wanted to leave while I wanted to sit and try to crack the questions which we missed. After being warned several times by the invigilator not discuss loudly he kept shouting the answers. Done with prelim we asked for the answers and our marks. We had got 11. BAD very bad. DPS RKPee got 17!!!!!.Anyway we were pretty sure that we would qualify.

Ok fast forward to quiz finals. Got on stage. The first question appeared and the team couldn’t answer. IT WAS A SITTER.

GOOGLE announced this service on first April 2004 but people thought it to be a hoax. Name the service.

I oohed and aah-ed, so the quiz master came to me and asked me the answer quietly. I told him the answer quietly in his ear.

and the quiz moved and got no more correct answers or 5-stars.Anirudh was blank. And was even stopping me from answering! Told me that the answer is embarrassing so don’t answer! I didn’t listen and still answered or tried very one. Got very close to getting points but luck was not there. At one point of time Anirudh knew one answer and said it too, but didn’t argue with the quiz master as it would have been EMBARRASSING!
3 ROUNDS come to an end and we come fourth.DPS Mathura Road came first, RKP second and Noidea 3rd. Congrats Mihir!

Got down from the stage and asked the quiz master if I could have the copy of the questions, but he could give me only the AV round’s copy.

Learnt that we came first in GD. Congrats Romil! and first in PPT! congrats juniors!

anyway! Our school emerged as the 1st runners-up for the overall trophy.

Nice experience I must say and sorry Anirudh if I hurt you.

The ending of the post sucked because the PC was on backup at the moment so the most I had was 20 min and I wanted to finish it.
